The Nigerian Super Eagles’ head coach, Jose Peseiro, has stated that his team’s goal is to defeat Portugal on Thursday, November 17. In a Grade A friendly game scheduled to take place at the Jose Alvalade Stadium in Lisbon, Peseiro will captain the Eagles against his native nation. The above match will take place just three days before the start of the 2022 FIFA World Cup, which Nigeria will not be attending.
The Portuguese team will be traveling to Qatar for the international competition, and squad coach Fernando Santos will use this match as their final preparation for the legendary competition.
Peseiro, who became head coach in May, has disclosed that the aim of the Super Eagles is to achieve an outright victory. Despite not going to Qatar, Peseiro stated that the Super Eagles’ goal versus Portugal is to win. He also expressed his excitement about taking on powerful opposition and the implications for Nigerian football.
